The Round Up: Friday September 6 2013

Your Friday Round Up right this way...

Happy Friday, I trust everyone has survived the first week of school and we are all now looking forward to a nice crisp and cool weekend. While its Fashion Week over in NYC its TIFF over here in the T Do, yeah, Toronto is kinda a big deal this time of year. Whatever you're up to this weekend whether you're catching designer shows, hip films or devouring copious amounts of foam milk and pumpkin syrup I hope its a great one. And of course before you run off to enjoy yourself, take a look below, this week's round up is a continuation of a previous post which in I am introducing to you my favorite brands, I hope you already know about them because they are AWESOME, but in case you dont...now's your chance.

Enjoy!

1. Deborah Lippmann:nail colors, nail treatments and lip colors; you've seen them all before, but not like this! Lippmann nail colors caught my eye several years back because of the striking sparkle shades (over 70 shades to be exact) but it was the ingredients that made me purchase my first bottle. All of her polishes are free of toluene, formaldehyde, camphor, or DBP.

Being the nail polish hoarder I am, I had been on the hunt for the perfect sparkle polish for quite some time, possible even YEARS. Insert Deborah Lippmann here. "Mint Mayhem" is one of my favorites, it's a pastel with black glitter, which is both edgy and sweet.

From her most recent releases "Glitter and Be Gay" is another stunning shade.

Check out her website and you can easily end up spending hours discovering her gorgeous collection of nail lacquers and lip colors, you can also read a very interesting bio about the manicurist who has been dubbed the WORLDS best!

2 Angela & Roi: does your handbag promote early detection and raise awareness of breast cancer? Or does it happen to raise funds for treatment and prevention of melanoma? What about supporting the care of millions of people affected by Alzheimer's Disease? Oh it doesn't? I think it should, and that's why I am absolutely in love with  Angela & Roi.

Promoting fashion and charity through great design and philanthropy, what more can a fashion lover with a social conscious ask for?

I encourage you to read the brands mission statement, its on their website under "Our Story", and in short, its beautiful. The creators of the brand are a husband and wife, who named the brand after themselves because their relationship is the most important part of their lives (hello love story), every bag is made out of vegan leather, in minimalist style, and made for the EVERYDAY woman, because they believe that not only the rich and famous should have gorgeous handbags.

On top of all of that, their bags have a purpose. Simply put, the color of your bag represents the color of the charity you are contributing towards with your purchase of your new pretty bag. "Donate by color", there are 11 charities and colors to choose from and $5 from each bag goes towards that charity. Take a look below for three of my favorite designs.
Classic Red Vegan Cross- Body. Charity: AIDS
vegan leather

Square Dark-Green Tote. Charity: Depression Awareness
vegan leather
Mini White Cross-body. Charity: Lung Cancer
vegan leather
3. Sandro: If you're already in the know with this French brand you may already know the great news that as of August 20th Sandro now ships to Canada via their e-commerce site http://us.sandro-paris.com/

They are also offering free shipping to Canadians for a limited time. On Canadian soil if cyber shopping isn't your think, you can find Sandro at select Hudson's Bay locations: Toronto Yorkdale, Toronto Queen Street, Montreal and Vancouver. Also, there are talks of a free standing Sandro store coming to a major Canadian city near you, so stay tuned.

For those who don't know about Sandro, here is a little rundown for you. Designed by Evelyne and Ilan Chertrite, a mother and son team with a shared passion for fashion and style. For you viewing pleasure I have included some looks from their current lookbook that I would really, really love to get my hands on.
